Those Days...

We all know those days.
The ones where you can't concentrate, your mind is constantly babbling and all you want is a cup of tea and a hug.
Well, that was my weekend in a nutshell.
I hadn't had a great week, my mind was constantly swimming and I was just desperate to get out of the house for some fresh air.

Surprisingly enough, starting this blog has really sparked my interest in photography.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no professional, but it is a hobby that really does help me relax and zone out from reality.

So that is what's today's post is.
It is my walk around the local park, seeing the potential in the smallest things, and doing what I love doing to help me take a step back.
Even though my parents and many others firmly agree that the student area in Leeds isn't the most stunning of places, (crime ridden & shootings galore...), I'm a firm believer that beauty can be found in worst of things, you just need to know where to look.

So yes, this week was not good and I needed a good intake of fresh winter's air to allow me to think.
But, I'm a serious optimist.
My grandmother is one of the women who has truly inspired me in her life, and in her own words, "Go get back up there girl. Do 'em proud."
And that is exactly what I'm going to do.

Photography, sport & baking are the things that really help me out at times... So what sort of things or hobbies does everyone else do to take a step back?
We all those 'those days' after all!


  1. Loved this post :) I like to curl up with a book and block everything else out, or arrange to see someone who I know always cheers me up :) I hope you have a better week this week!


  2. I know exactly how you feel, this week has been rubbish for me too - January blues have hit hard this year! I also took myself on a little walk haha, and I totally agree that blogging has awakened this new love of photography! Love your photos - what camera do you use?

  4. I totally just had a really similar weekend - recovering from the week, feeling like I'd just been hit by a bus, etc. :) I spent plenty of time with Disney movies and plenty of blankets! Good to know I wasn't the only one!

    When life's getting too much for me, I go exercise- run/gym/sport/anything to clear my head.x

  7. If i ever feel 'down' I start doing exercise it really helps clear my mind.


  8. Lovely post! Going out with your camera (and a flask of hot choc) and taking some snaps is a lovely way to get some headspace.

    I love to do some yoga, go swimming or just get a good playlist on and go for a jog ( is good to find chill playlists/ anything to suit your mood! Baking really helps and so does surrounding yourself with people that bring you up and make you laugh!

    This is a weird suggestion but by bro recommended an app on iPhone called Buddhify 2, just a load of short meditations! It's actually pretty good!

    And of course, a bit of Disney will never fail to make ya smile. Ix

  9. Hah I love the statue with the painted red boots!

    I also really use sports and working out to help me out when I'm feeling stressed, anxious or upset. I guess it's the endorphins?
    Also, I do really love to do a bit of yoga before bed if I'm feeling really stressy. There's lots of really nice and free ones on youtube, of different lengths. I've found that a little as 10 minutes goes a long way :)
