Filmore & Union, Leeds

Yesterday, my mum came up to Leeds for a day trip. My brother & father were off at Twickenham watching the rugby, so it was a perfect opportunity for a girls day, especially with its proximity the Mother's Day.

I treated her to getting our nails done before heading off for some lunch in Filmore & Union. (You may have seen them before in my Leeds Food Fest post.)
Situated outside, under heaters in the city centre's Victoria Quarter, it's a little gem that serves great quality, healthy, and fun food in the perfect people watching location.

We sipped on our tea & *very* good quality coffee whilst nattering and catching up on life.

The food rather swiftly arrived & looked as pretty as punch.

My mum ordered their 'Hot Jacks' (paprika roasted chicken breast with red peppers, home made guacamole & salad leaves) on their gluten free wrap.

And I their 'Omega Rich smoked haddock fish cakes' with dukkah mint yoghurt and seasonal salads.

Both were absolutely sublime.
The fish cakes were full of flavour & worked so well with mint yoghurt and the salads.
The perfect pick me up & feel good food!

But of course, we weren't stopping there.
We had been eyeing up that cake counter since we walked in & had already decided on what to order.

Whilst their blondies and brownies looked divine, their carrot cake muffins just had to win.

Topped with cranberries, walnuts and pistachios, the muffins were amazing. Fluffy & flavoursome, they fitted perfectly well with the cream cheese frosting and crunchy toppings.

Filmore & Union is located within the Victoria Quarter within Leeds city centre but they have a number of branches.
I can't recommend it enough, especially if you are dairy/gluten/health conscious because all of their options cover at least one of these factors.
Tasty, flavoursome, and high quality food, perfect for a mummy/daughter date.
I'm dying to return for either their tapas nights or brunch now!

And on a side note to my mother who will be reading this...

Happy Mothers Day to my wonderful mum & a huge thank you for the visit. It was perfect & you are one in a million.
Love you lots xx
